THE MUSIC.
By Will Ihavetochangemyname
Hi there music people, I hope you are all ready as this Fall’s great new music roles out. This is part of the economic stimulus so please buy, buy, buy. Hopefully American artists around the world can sell well all over so our poor economy can prosper once again. I mean Mariah, Madonna and Babs are back and that’s just the beginning. Shakira is due at any moment. David Guetta, one of the biggest names in dance, finally released his full length album, One Love and it’s full of hits. You may have heard his huge monster hit with Kelly Rowlands, “When Love Takes Over” already, but that’s just the tip of this album’s iceberg. Guetta features Akon, Chris Willis, Kid Kudi, Estelle and will.i.am on various singles on the record. I am sure there will be more hits to come from this collection.
Mariah Carey is back and well, Mimi is an imperfect angel, literally. “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” is not bad but not great either. She has chosen to take the schmaltzy road with the next single, the cover of “I Want To Know What Love Is” which I could have done without. The first single is the scandalous, “Obsessed” which chronicles her beef with a so called rapper. Did you hear that rapper’s answer rap? Oh my, all of Mimi’s little lambs must be up and arms. I love “Obsessed” cause it was a little risky for Mimi. No really people, I do like me some Mariah. I especially liked crazy – Lil Twin Star – Glitter Mariah. Remember when she opened up that box of crazy on TRL that memorable day? I do!!! I mean I hope she does not lose her shit again, even though it was way better than any MTV Cribs I ever seen. I also want to say, Mariah, your remixes have gone down in quality. What ever happened to David Morales magic touch on all of your dance floor classics. Get boo on the phone and call him back. He must not be too busy child.
Ok so I went to see the new remake of FAME with an open mind. Expecting to probably hate it, I came out very much surprised and touched by this new telling of the classic 1980 movie. So as I left the theater, I bought the new soundtrack and what can I tell you? I am a sucker for a good film soundtrack. They did not redux the entire old soundtrack but kept a few classics in and rethought the rest. Standout tracks are Nauturi Naughton’s “Fame” and “Out Here On My Own.” Asher Book from V Factory really kills it on the soundtrack, keep an eye for this boy. Not only cute but very talented.
I can’t wait for the DVD but for now I have the soundtrack to help me relive the movie.
See you on the dance floor bitches
