THE MUSIC
By Will Ihavetochangemyname
Hi marys & fairies, I’d like to welcome all the NY contingent that is now reading Odyssey on the East Coast. I love your city but, I don’t enjoy your winters darlings. It’s way too hard on this baby skin.
Out in store now is the new Leona Lewis record, Echo. You remember Leona right? She dominated the music charts last year with “Bleeding Heart”, the single that would not go away. Well she’s back with a very slick CD, executive produced by Simon Cowell and Clive Davis. Echo is what you’d expect Ms. Lewis to do, don’t mess with the recipe. She’s an amazing vocalist and looks great, but does she really have a personality? The lead single from Echo, “Happy” is very much in line with the style you expect from her. You can’t really blame them for sticking with what’s proven. The rest of Echo has it’s moments, but it just does not evolve musically for me. Oh well, maybe they wanted to play it safe and that’s not exactly a bad thing.
Another new pop bitch on the horizon is Kesha. She sang on Flo Rida’s hit this summer and now Kesha is stepping out on her own with a new smash single “Tik Tok” and I love it. Kesha has been around for a bit but she is young free spirit that is going to take over. Having spent some time with this little spitfire she is full of energy and hit songs. When I was introduced to her by Kara DioGuardi, I knew then there was no stopping this hippy dippy chick. I heard some of the ruff demos then and I was hooked. One of them is “Boots & Boys” which is the bside to “Tik Tok,” I can’t wait for the album. For more info on Kesha go to www.keshasparty.com.
So I heard most of the new Lady Gaga album and it’s pretty amazing bitches. This will secure Gaga’s world reign. Get ready, she is coming for you. The Fame Monster (not to be confused with Candy Ass (Hollywood)) drops on 11/23 and I can’t wait. “Bad Romance” is already taking over as I write this and there is more on this new collection to flip over. “No Way” and “Dance In The Dark” are classic and will most likely be singles in my opinion. There’s no stopping this lady. She is intelligent and provocative so stand aside mediocre pop artists and let the new bitch of POP through.
SEE YOU ON THE DANCE FLOOR BITCHES.
