Hi there children, it's your Odyssey music maven. Summer is almost over but, the music keep on coming. New this week is The Veronica's
second record, Hook Me Up. These Australian twin sisters are already massive in their homeland and are now destined to blowup here in the States with their latest offering. Hook Me Up take a left turn from the last album with The Veronicas delivering a very catchy Electro Dance Pop record. The first single, "Untouched", is already blowing up with an edgy video all over MTV. Other standouts are "Hook Me Up", "This Love" and "Take Me On The Floor". The album is consistent with their new electro pop sound all the way through. The rest of the tracks are good and make for a great collection from these Ozzie darlings. The Veronicas can take the place of t.A.T.u (remember them? and stick around longer with the superior songs and production. Catch them on the road with The Jonas Bros. coming this fall. Remember IIO (Rapture)? Well the singer and front person, Nadia Ali has released a new single, "Crash & Burn" with a slew of remixes available on Itunes. While I like the new song and the mixes
, she has yet to reach the level she deserves to be on. This Dance Princess is destined for the top of the Pop charts as she writes and sings all her material. She also has one of those unique voices you'll never forget. I hear she's recording her first solo record so watch out bitches. Speaking of Dance bitches, Roisin Murphy (Moloko) is my latest obsession. Her second solo record, Overpowered is out in Europe and hopefully someone will get a clue soon and release it here. Overpowered, is full of hits, "Overpowered", "You Know Me Better" and "Cry Baby", and has been crafted with the help of some great producers that have taken Roisin's voice to new places. If you don't mind paying for the Import, do yourself a favor and buy this now. You will be ahead of the pack on this. Roisin Murphy's star will rise higher with this release, no doubt. See you on the dance floor byatches..

Hi there bitches, just got back from P.S.(that's Palm Springs for those non Californians)where the hot weather was unbearable. Glad to be back to a much cooler hipper town. God I love LA. A little creapy and cute, new artist Kerli unleashes her Island Def Jam debut, Love Is Dead. This 21 year old singer-songwriter is Evanescence meets Tim Burton in the AltRockPop realm. Some of the material is good ("Love Is Dead","Walking on Air" and "The Creationist" and some of it not so compelling. Overall I reccomend this collection as it's got an overall freshness to it. Solange Knowles, is out with a new single, "I Decided" produced by The Neptunes and "I Decided - Part 2" by The Freemasons. Beyonce's lil sista took a more retro route for her first single. I love it but it might not fit into today's radio formats. Cool for school and good nonetheless. Both versions are good with The Freemason version being very unexpected sounding from them. Nice job overall. Two other hot tamales,
that I've talked about before in the Column are finally coming out with their debut albums respectively. Erika Jayne's Pretty Mess album comes out in the Fall but, before then check out the new "Stars" video that hit Logo's New Now Next show last Sunday. And of course Lady Gaga who was all over at the Miss Universe Pageant during the Swimsuit competition singing her hit "Just Dance" live. Her debut cd, The Fame also hits stores this Fall.
FONSECA STYLE
Young DJ Shakes Up ReFlex (After-Hours) Whether it's in a club or at a fashion show, Hector Fonseca’s unique blend of funky rhythms, tribal sexi-ness and electronic edginess is pushing the handsomespinner into the stratosphere of DJ superstardom. He’s also a highly successful musician. Last year, thewunderkind released his first full-length mixed compi-lation album, New York Club Anthems Vol. 2, on the Star 69 Records label. In addition to enjoying ravereviews – his mix of the dance classic “Drama” was one of the best tracks of ’07 – the album was a huge com-mercial success. New York Club Anthems Vol. 3 comes out this summer. With success both in the studio and in clubs – and looks that
were made to grace maga-zine covers including now, ourown - the industry is referringto Fonseca as the “Total Package DJ”. He doesn’t mind theattention, but is insistent that it is the music, not his pretty face, that matters. You’re called “the total package” DJ. Yes, I've heard people refer to me as that. It's flattering. I'll take it.Of all the careers you could have pursued in life, why DJ? I don't think I could be anything elseand enjoy it. I studied marketing at Penn State andwhile I did well, I couldn't do the whole punching aclock and sitting in a cubicle all day thing. So, I grav-itated towards what came naturally, DJing. The wayI look at it, I've been a DJ my whole life, I just getpaid to do it now.How did your parents react when you told them your plans? I'm from a Latin family so the first question was "do you play any salsa and meringue?" The second was "can you DJ our cousin'swedding next month?" (Laughs) Did they have another career in mind for you? I think most people in my family thought I wouldbe an actor or an entertainer of some sort. My momwanted me to have a more "secure and steady" jobbut she knows I have always had a creative mind andso she's fine with my career choices. My dad is totallyinto it and has even asked to come hear me play. Have you always been musical?Yes. When I was a kid, I used to really want a drumset but my family didn’t have a lot of money so I hadto settle for maracas and congas at family parties. Ialso used to save nickels and dimes and buy recordswith whatever I could scrape up.What’s your favorite instrument? Is this where I say my huge Tuba? (Laughs) A midi-keyboard, ofcourse. Before DJing, you were a fashion model in NYC.
How glamorous was that? It was a lot of fun and at times glamorous, but honestly, male models don'treally make any money and so you end up going tofabulous parties and then eating ramen noodles whenyou get to your studio apartment crammed with fourother models. Made for fun drunk moments though.Oh the stories I could tell you, fun times.

Oh and I forgotto mention that Madonna’s newtour tickets is sending me back $900 for two tickets in Las Vegas,I refuse to see her at Dodger Stadium. The bitch better bring it for chargingthat kind of crazyprices. I remember seeing the “Like A Virgin” tour in SanDiego for like $20(including service charge) That was long ago and I was very young. Anyways, I hear she’s even hired an “ Extravaganza” to choreograph two number in the new show. Oh well,we’ll see soon if her “Sticky & Sweet Tour”was worth it. Othertour this Sum-mer to get excited for are in my opinion, YAZ (omg,i can’t re-ally believe these Two got togetheragain for a live tour),George Michael ( M s . I b e t t e r -chargealotfor thisis-mylasttour)”and of course Boy George.
